GOOD DEEDS DAY IN ARMENIA

The Dilijan Community Center joined the Good Deeds Day Initiative in 2017. Since then, every year, we organize various activities, in order to do good deeds for the benefit of others and the planet. Each year we have around 50-60 volunteers participating in several initiatives. Below you can see the list of activities, implemented during the past few years:
– Making birdhouses
– Beautifying abandoned places in the city
– Collecting clothes for people in need
– Collecting books for the library and repairing them
– Collecting the garbage

On May 9, 2021 we had the biggest celebration of doing good deeds. More than 700 people from Dilijan and nearby villages took part in the initiative. They planted 1000 Buxus plants and contributed in making the district green again, just like it was 15 years ago. During the celebration, we thanked everyone who supported us during 2020.

The main issues in our relevant regions of Tavush, Lori, Syunik, Gegharkunik and Yerevan are: active citizenship, volunteerism, zero-waste!

FEATURED PROJECT

Despite the challenges – COVID-19 and War in Artsakh (an integral part of historic Armenia) DCC initiated different activities during the year 2020 as well, such as:
– Enhancing the old paintings in the city park
– Making new benches for the Dilijan City Park
– Painting the basketball field in the park
– Collecting warm clothes and first aid for Artsakh refugees
– Sending first aid kits for the soldiers fighting at the frontline
– Organizing artisanal workshops for women from Artsakh
– Organizing various activities for kids from Artsakh
