GOOD DEEDS DAY IN SURINAME
In our 8 years of existence, we’ve participated in 3 Good Deeds Day projects. Our goal is to implement sustainable projects in mostly the rural communities. Some of these projects include: planting trees at different secondary schools, blood donations, motivational sessions for the youth in Moengo, donation of chickens to children’s and elderly homes and empowerment of female entrepreneurs.
Good Deeds Day 2022: This year project was aimed two ways: we provided 15 children’s and elderly homes with 8 chickens per institution and besides that we also empowered a small female chicken breeder to expand her business.

MAIN ISSUES
The Suricorps for Development Foundation (Suricorps) focuses on the priority areas: Health, Environment, Gender, Education and Culture.
The main purpose of Suricorps is to mobilize volunteers who can contribute to the care and development or implementation of national and local development projects for the most needed groups and communities. These projects can be carried out by the government, foundations, NGOs, individuals or directly by Suricorps.
A second objective of Suricorps is, more generally, to promote volunteer work in Suriname, to make it more visible, and to strengthen coordination and cooperation between the various stakeholder government, civil society and the private sector.
For 2023 our main focus will be on volunteerism in combination with agriculture and entrepreneurship.
