4.5 million participants in 115 countries around the globe! Millions of participants, businesses, nonprofits, schools, families, and individual good-doers took part in Good Deeds Day 2024.
549,319 projects! GDD volunteers carried out projects from a variety of fields – environment, elderly care, health, animals, education, community, youth, and special populations.
Out of all of the unique and creative projects that took place this year, we saw 3 major project themes; Education and Leadership, Caring for the environment, and Health and Well-Being.

1. British Virgin Islands
Amidst the hustle of daily life, the Omega Leo Club of Tortola took a moment to celebrate the spirit of giving on Good Deeds Day. From uplifting youth events to supporting local causes, each act of kindness weaves a tapestry of compassion and unity.
2. Zimbabwe
Good Deeds Day Zimbabwe hosted an Anti-Drug and Substance Abuse campaign alongside the Marondera Good Deeds Day Cluster Launch. They are committed to empowering communities and tackling the drug abuse pandemic head-on. A big shoutout to all their members and partners for their invaluable contributions to this event’s success.
3. Croatia
Djeca za bolji svijet/Children for a Better World celebrated in Rijeka with a special event organized by Caritas Riječke nadbiskupije nadbiskupije. Volunteers spent a joyful day with the residents of the Home for Persons with Dementia, playing board games like ‘Man don’t get angry,’ biskula, Uno, and even passing the ball on the terrace, where the residents emerged victorious!
4. India
VOLfest’24, the annual volunteering festival in India organized by Humans of Volunteering. This event unites people, organizations, and communities dedicated to making a positive impact through volunteering. This year, the celebration took place in New Delhi and was a wide array of activities, from storytelling sessions to hands-on volunteering, and exhibitions by 35+ NGOs joined over 5000 volunteers in showcasing the incredible power of volunteerism!

Charities2Love, the nonprofit powerhouse promoting volunteerism and championing various causes, just celebrated its first anniversary and Global Volunteer Month with an incredible initiative! Partnering with four dynamic volunteer organizations for Good Deeds Day, they created 80 amazing care packages packed with curated items and heartfelt handwritten messages. These special bags were delivered to hospitals, spreading joy and lifting the spirits of young patients who needed it most.

The Association for Volunteer Social Services in Macau celebrated Good Deeds Day with a heartwarming afternoon gathering! They creatively crafted a symbolic umbrella, representing the shared values of compassion, joy, and sacrifice. The umbrella serves as a powerful metaphor for coming together, sharing happiness, and spreading positivity.
10. Morocco
La Journée de la bonne action in Morocco brought together teenagers for an impactful event! They planted tree saplings, ensuring a greener future and relief from the Sahara’s heat. Afterward, they enjoyed indoor art activities and treated themselves to a delightful meal filled with surprises!
11. Belize
Itz’at STEAM Academy took a trip to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital They brought along handmade get-well-soon cards for patients and treats for the amazing medical staff.
12. Congo Brazaville
Good Deeds Day Congo Brazzaville led a cleanliness drive at Chaminade High School in Brazzaville, partnering closely with the school’s administration. The event was honored by the esteemed presence of Principal Ferdinand Romain BOUKA and the entire faculty.
13. Philippines
Hands On Manila created an unforgettable cultural and literary event with third-grade students! Pista ng Libro featured captivating storytelling sessions with volunteer readers, including Mayor Joy Belmonte of Quezon City and actress Iza Calzado. Plus, the kids enjoyed a lively tournament of Laro ng Lahi (traditional Filipino games) while waiting for their turn to hear stories. It was a joyous and educational celebration for all the children involved!
14. United Kingdom
HandsOn London had the pleasure of hosting a fantastic group of volunteers all the way from Port Talbot, Wales, for a major cleanup as part of Good Deeds Day.
15. Kyrgystan
Good Deeds Day 2024 made its mark in Kyrgyzstan with a wave of community-driven initiatives! In Jalal-Abad, amidst breathtaking scenery, volunteers united to clean up a beloved picnic spot. Their dedication not only preserved the area’s natural beauty but also sparked conversations about sustainability. Meanwhile, in bustling Bishkek, efforts were underway to spread awareness and ignite kindness across the city.
