From March to the end of July, the youth of Lokalne Centrum Wolontariatu w Chęcinach embarked on a transformative volunteer project. Over these few months, they have spearheaded numerous initiatives, each leaving a positive mark on their community.
One of their heartfelt endeavors was visiting the Caritas Hospice of St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta in Kielce. They conducted workshops on creating kindness boxes and hosted a beautiful concert, spreading joy and compassion among the caregivers and residents.
In celebration of Earth Day, the youth organized a unique password eco-spraying campaign. They distributed refrigerator stickers with waste segregation rules to passers-by, raising awareness about environmental responsibility and encouraging sustainable practices.
The group also participated in a workshop on nonviolent communication, gaining valuable skills to foster understanding and peaceful interactions within their community.
Collaborating with the Primary School in Starochęcinach, they hosted an engaging picnic featuring animations and eco-workshops. Attendees had the chance to create their own reusable bags, promoting creativity and environmental consciousness.
On Good Deeds Day, the volunteers spread kindness by distributing homemade cupcakes and kind words to passers-by, brightening the days of many with their thoughtful gestures.
The youth also enjoyed enriching workshops conducted by Grupa Animacyjna AniMa, where they learned to paint faces, twist balloons, make gigaboos, and organize animation dances. These skills will undoubtedly enhance their future volunteer efforts.
As the school year drew to a close, they celebrated with a fun-filled “Volunteer Summer Festival” at the club in Lipowica, showing appreciation for their dedicated volunteers and creating lasting memories.
These remarkable initiatives highlight the dedication and creativity of the youth at Lokalne Centrum Wolontariatu w Chęcinach. Their efforts not only benefit their community but also inspire others to join in the spirit of volunteerism and kindness.
Good Deeds Day, an annual global day of doing good, is the pinnacle of doing good year-round. Good Deeds Day has grown to 115 countries with millions of participants. Good Deeds Day 2025 will take place on April 6.
